Technical UpdatePostgres Enterprise ManagerⓇ (PEM) 7.4
WHAT’S NEW
This update is notifying you of a new software release Postgres Enterprise ManagerⓇ (PEM) 7.4. It is an enterprise management tool designed to assist database administrators, system architects, and performance analysts in administering, monitoring, and tuning PostgreSQL and EnterpriseDB Postgres Advanced Server database servers. PEM is architected to manage and monitor anywhere from a handful, to hundreds of servers from a single console, allowing complete and remote control over all aspects of your databases.
Highlights of this release include:
- Manage EDB Ark through PEM - PEM now has the capability to manage the EDB Ark Console/Server (version: 3.0 & 3.1). PEM allows users to create, delete and manage of the following entities of EDB Ark Server:
- Cluster
- Cluster Template
- Cluster Backup
- Server Image
- Database Engine
- Users
- Improvement in the configuration script (RPM) - Change the PEM configuration script to work with the database server, when pg_hba.conf and/or postgresql.conf are not present under the data directory.
- PEM configuration script (RPM) was failing and does not report the correct information when the database superuser and os user are different - Make the PEM configuration script work when the operating system user and the super user of the database server are different. (PEM-988, #763039)
- Backup job is failing for EPAS 10.2.7 - Make PEM ignore the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable as it was interfering with the libraries to be loaded by the specific pg_dump utility. (PEM-1035, PEM-766, #730807, #745519)
- Web interface access error - Improve the PEM web application to handle accessing the session data better by using locks. Locks prevent the access of session data simultaneously and allow controlling the session data management. (#781133)
