EDB Postgres Ark 3.2
WHAT’S NEW
This announcement is notifying you of a new software release, EDB Postgres Ark 3.2.
EDB Ark allows organizations to set up their own DBaaS enabling their end users to provision EDB Postgres Advanced Server or PostgreSQL databases in single instances, on high-availability and secure clusters, or for application development sandboxes on public clouds powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
Highlights of this release include:
- Major Version Upgrade - Ark now provides a way to upgrade existing clusters to more recent versions of PostgreSQL or Advanced Server. For details, see the EDB Ark Getting Started Guide.
- CIDR whitelist - Ark's cluster creation dialog now includes a dialog to open ports for access from specified CIDR addresses. For more information, see the EDB Ark Getting Started Guide.
- Enhanced and modernized User Interface - New UI features and a new look & feel for a improved user experience.
Defects corrected in this update:
- Scale-machine should create new nodes in same AZs and subnets as original cluster (781234)
- Add a PEM server https port property to Ark (779136)
- The server class list for scale machine type not available (791232)
- Fix PostgreSQL JDBC JAR permissions during postInstall.sh (806433)
- Cyryptinit script needs to retry mount if first try fails (768708)
- PEM registration failing (815542)
Deprecated with this update:
Ark 3.2 no longer supports the OpenStack platform

IS THIS UPDATE FOR ME?
This announcement is for EDB customers who either:
a.) currently have a database subscription purchased for EDB Postgres Standard Edition or EDB Postgres Enterprise Edition, with an included license for EDB Ark Server, OR
b). Do not have an EDB Postgres database subscription but have purchased the Ark Runtime for PostgreSQL to license Ark for the cores it is used with.
HOW TO GET THE UPDATE AND APPLY IT
In order to use EDB Ark, it requires executing a Sales Order. Please contact your Account Executive for more details.
