Technical Update
EDB Postgres Migration Portal 1.1.0

WHAT’S NEW

EDB Postgres™ Migration Portal (Migration Portal) is a web-based tool for migrating Oracle database schemas to the EDB Postgres platform. The Migration Portal assesses and analyzes Oracle database schemas and converts types, tables, sequences, constraints, triggers, views, stored procedures, packages, dblinks, materialized views, and indexes, producing DDLs that are compatible with EDB Postgres Advanced Server.

Highlights of this release include:

  • Case sensitivity
  • Starting this release, the Migration Portal and EDB DDL Extractor tool will preserve the case of mixed case identifiers. If an identifier is all uppercase (the Oracle default) it will be converted to all lowercase (the Postgres default).
Note: You must use the latest EDB DDL Extractor tool to preserve case sensitivity for the extracted ddl files.
  • Reserved keyword support
  • EDB reserved words as object name or variable name is supported.
  • Auto assessment of dependent objects
  • Migration Portal will automatically assess all the dependent objects while reassessing any object. This feature saves efforts of manual reassessment of dependent objects.
  • New Repair Handlers
  • Following is the new repair handler added to improve the Advanced Server compatibility ratio:
  • ERH‌-2061 : In Advanced Server for all the PL/SQL objects, if the END Label is a reserved word, the END Label is enclosed with double quotes.
