Technical UpdatePostgres Enterprise ManagerⓇ (PEM) 7.7
WHAT’S NEW
This update is notifying you of a new software release, Postgres Enterprise ManagerⓇ (PEM) 7.7. PEM is an enterprise management tool designed to assist database administrators, system architects, and performance analysts in administering, monitoring, and tuning PostgreSQL and EnterpriseDB Postgres Advanced Server database servers. PEM is architected to manage and monitor anywhere from a handful to hundreds of servers from a single console, allowing complete and remote control over all aspects of your databases.
Highlights of this release includes:
- New UI Design - The user interface has been redesigned to give a cleaner view and easier navigation.
- Debian packages for PEM
- A standard search option has been added within breadcrumb trails to ease navigation among levels
- Added a "scratch pad" to the Query Tool to hold text snippets whilst editing
- Added the Commit and Rollback buttons to the Query Tool
- Support double-click on Query Tool result grid column resize handles to auto-size to the content
- Allow X-FRAME-OPTIONS to be set for security, set the Default to SAMEORIGIN (#739178) - Enable the "X-Frame-Options" HTTP header and implement frame busting code on sensitive pages to provide a level of protection against clickjacking attacks.
- Automatically expand child nodes as well as the selected node on the treeview if there is only one - Expand the child nodes as well as the selected node automatically on the browser tree if there is only one child present.
- Allow the user to download explain plan from SQL Profiler (#484049)
- Give proper privileges and explicit type cast to hstore extension (#820063)
- PEM Agent registration creates cert files with additional .crt extension (#853579)
- Handle proper exception during alert processing. (#830175)
- Delete all the agent entry except for the latest one sorted by login time (#829037)
- Server info probe shows numeric overflow error if shared memory size is too high (#833535)
- Ensure that grant wizard lists functions for EPAS server running with no-redwood-compat mode. (#833292)
- Pause auto-refresh on the 'Alert Status' table whilst showing the alert details (#853200)
- Ensure we display the relation name (and not the OID) in the locks table wherever possible (#807056)
- Fixed the dependency on libboost of RPM on IBM powerbox (#849462)
- Show the lock information for the sessions from the current server only (#853549)
- Handle display of roles with expiration set to infinity correctly.
- Allow editing of values in columns with the oid data-type which are not an actual row OID.
- Fix SQL for foreign table options.
- Fix execution time to show Hours part for long running queries in Query Tool.
- Fix SQL generated for tables with inherited columns.
- Display event trigger functions correctly on EPAS.
- Fix support for BIGINT in JSONB data.
- Ensure JSON data isn't modified in-flight by psycopg2 when using View/Edit data.
- Messages tab of query tool should be clear on subsequent execution of table/view using View/Edit Data.
- Fix Statistics panel hang issue for 1000+ tables.
- Modify the Download as CSV option to use the same connection as the Query Tool its running in so temporary tables etc. can be used.
- Inline edbspl trigger functions should not be visible in Grant Wizard.
- Proper SQL should be generated when create function with return type as custom type argument.
- Ensure that null values are handled properly in CSV download.
- Ensure that database restriction of server dialog works with special characters.
- Ensure autocomplete works when first identifier in the FROM clause needs quoting.
- Ensure autocomplete works for columns from a schema-qualified table.
- Fix ordering of VACUUM options which changed in PG11.
- Fix SQL for when clause while creating Trigger.
- Proper SQL is generated when creating/changing column with custom type argument.
- Ensure that file format combo box value is retained when hidden files checkbox is toggled.
- Don't show system catalogs in the schemas property list unless show system objects is enabled.
- Proper SQL is generated when create procedure with custom type arguments.
- Ensure that browser displays warning before close or refresh.
- Fix EXEC script for procedures.
- Proper SQL is generated when create domain of type interval with precision.
- Fix help for the backup/restore dialogues.
- Fix keyboard navigation for dialog tabs.
- Make the browser more robust in the face of multibyte characters in SQL_ASCII databases.
- Data is updated properly for FTS Configurations, FTS Dictionaries, FTS Parsers and FTS Templates.
- Fixed unable to drop multiple Rules and Foreign Tables from properties tab.
- Add full support and tests for all PG server side encodings.
- Correct schema is displayed in Materialized View dialog.
- Fix debugger issue for procedure inside package for EPAS servers.
- Don't exclude SELECT statements from transaction management in the Query Tool in case they call data-modifying functions.
- Optimise display of Dependencies and Dependents, and use on-demand loading of rows in batches of 100.
- Avoid 'bogus varno' message from Postgres when viewing the SQL for a table with triggers.
- Handle result sets with zero columns correctly in the Query Tool.
