Release Announcement Failover Manager 4.1

WHAT’S NEW

This announcement is notifying you of a new software release of Failover Manager version 4.1. Failover Manager provides high availability by monitoring the members of a Postgres cluster, identifying and verifying database failures quickly, and can automatically promote a standby node and issues alerts.

Highlights of this release include:

Features	Benefits
Add PgPool integration to the distribution	Allows customers to run architectures with EFM and PgPool directly from deployed software and documentation
HA architecture with EFM and PgPool in combination with a Network Load Balancer	Enables customers to install EFM and pgPool architectures in environments with a load balancer (e.g. Azure) directly from documentation
Standby Agents will resume health monitoring when local database connectivity is recovered	Improves EFM’s resiliency with regard to health monitoring
Option to automatically increase num_sync when standbys are added to or rejoin a cluster	Enabling this feature will automatically increase the RPO of the system when administrators add new standbys, or connectivity is restored

This release includes fixes for the following issues:

Can increase num_sync when synchronous standys are added. (Ticket #1092053)
Unable to start agent with certain properties not present. (Ticket #1087362)
Upgraded JDBC driver due to security vulnerabilities. (Ticket #1052383)
‘arping’ now called after acquiring VIP in non-sudo mode. (Ticket #1039625)
