Technical Update
 EDB Postgres Ark 3.1

WHAT’S NEW
This announcement is notifying you of a new software release, EDB Postgres Ark 3.1.
EDB Ark allows organizations to set up their own DBaaS enabling their end users to provision EDB Postgres Advanced Server or PostgreSQL databases in single instances, on high-availability and secure clusters, or for application development sandboxes on public clouds powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and on private clouds powered by OpenStack.

Highlights of this release include:
  • Backup Now feature - A ‘Backup Now’ button and API have been added to enable a console backup to be taken any time.
  • Snapshot Tags -  Cluster snapshots are now tagged with the cluster name, engine version, description and creator.
  • API Enhancements for: AWS AZ and Subnet support; templates with private IPs;
  • Subnet Selection - Option to select existing subnets for each node of a cluster, when deploying on Azure
  • Support for Integration with PEM 7.3
  • Postgres Enterprise Manager ® (PEM) Role/Group Synchronization - The PEM synchronization feature enables PEM to create roles and groups that correspond to the roles and groups configured in your Ark console. Access to the PEM browser can be granted on a per user basis (with Postgres Authentication Mode) and group-based access control is available to control access to PEM resources.
  • OpenStack Multi-Domain support - Keystone domains define the administrative boundaries for management of Keystone entities. A domain can represent an individual, company, or operator owned space.
  • OpenStack Pike support - Support for OpenStack Ocata and OpenStack Pike releases
Defects corrected in this update:
  • Ark replaces cluster during upgrade reboot (759937/CLD-711)
  • Need Ark to tag cluster snapshots with cluster details (765336/CLD-767)
