This announcement is notifying you of a new software release of Foreign Data Wrapper for MySQL 2.6.0 version. Foreign Data Wrappers allow EDB Postgres Advanced Server and PostgreSQL to connect to MySQL enabling you to view, join and manage data holistically.

Support for Push down joins to the remote MySQL servers. |
If we have a join between two foreign tables from the same remote server, push that join down to the remote server instead of fetching all the rows for both the tables and performing a join locally. This should result in performance improvements; improvements will vary by query. |
This release includes fixes for the following issues:
- Fixed crash with IMPORT FOREIGN SCHEMA when executed repeatedly.
- Prevent fetching of the system attributes from the remote relation.
- Fixed compiler warning due to clash with MySQL library macro.
- When the "COSTS" explain option is OFF, planning costs are not shown in the explain output.
- In test cases, to connect to the remote MySQL server instead of using hard-coded values we now use environment variables like MYSQL_HOST, MYSQL_PORT, MYSQL_USER_NAME, and MYSQL_PWD.
