WHAT’S NEW

This update is notifying you of a new software release of EDB Postgres Failover Manager (EFM) version 3.10. Failover Manager provides high availability by monitoring the members of a Postgres cluster, identifying and verifying database failures quickly, and can automatically promote a standby node and issues alerts.

Highlights of this release include:

Features

Benefits

Physical replication slot support for PostgreSQL 12 and EDB Postgres Advanced Server 12. EFM will create and advance slots on standby instances.

Customers can use physical (streaming) replication slots for high availability. EFM will automatically configure replication slots on standby.

Network Address Translation (NAT) support - enables EFM agents to communicate through public IP addresses.

Allows use of EFM with public IP addresses in multi region or multi data center deployments (separate OpenStack installations) where private IP addresses have no direct connectivity.

Replace trigger file with pg_ctl; which is a very straightforward way to promote the standby to master.

Simplifies configuration and improves resiliency.

New command to check the local efm status: efm node-status-json <cluster>

Enables customers to get local EFM agent health status without the overhead of creating new database connections.

This release includes fixes for the following issues:

  • Support for NAT addresses (945799)
