WHAT’S NEW

This update is notifying you of a new software release EDB Postgres™ Advanced Server 12.4.5 EDB Postgres Advanced Server 12 is built on open-source PostgreSQL 12, which introduces myriad enhancements that enable databases to scale up and scale out in more efficient ways. PostgreSQL 12 builds upon the existing partitioning techniques by allowing faster partition pruning along with additional partition improvements, several btree index advancements, CTE inlining, SERIALIZABLE for parallel query and many new features and capabilities.

Highlights of 12.4.5 release include:
●    Merge with community release 12.4.

●    EPAS-12 now has llvm support on RHEL-8.

●    Please note that UpdateMonitor is deprecated from this release onwards.

This update contains the following fixes:  

●    DB-682 - In case of error coming from standard_planner global pointer is not getting clean up and end up with server crash.  Commit fix dangling pointer de-reference for global index candidates. [#1026986]
●    DB-597 - Fix minor problems with non-exclusive backup cleanup [#1009383]
●    DB-537 - edb_enable_pruning: Fix to follow the same order to compute the hash values of partition key in which it's defined. [#1010975]
●    DB-371 - Make the scope of an autonomous transaction include the exception block. [#977822]
●    DB-406 - Throw a proper error when ROWID used with partition table.
●    DB-648 -  Adjust Makefile to use CXXFLAGS with HP-UX C compiler.
●    DB-640 - Fix FF mode in Redwood to_char() datetime related functions.
●    DB-639 - Protect (timestamp + number) and (timestamp - number) against overflow.
●    DB-477 - edbldr: Disallow using NULLIF as SQL expression evaluation is not supported in the direct load.
●    DB-154 - edb_partition: Don't try to prune a relation falling on the nullable side of a join for HASH partition when edb_enable_pruning is True.
●    DB-301 - edbldr: Fix assorted issues where ZONED data input length is less than the precision.
●    DB-438 - edbldr: Failed to load data for partition table having foreign key.
