Release Announcement Patch releases for EPAS and EDB Postgres Extended Server

WHAT’S NEW

This update is notifying you of new software releases to EDB repositories of PostgreSQL, EDB Postgres Advanced Server and EDB Postgres Extended Server. 

EDB Postgres Extended Server is built on open-source PostgreSQL with enhanced replication optimization to be used with EDB Postgres Distributed.

EDB Postgres Advanced Server    14.6.0, 13.9.13, 12.13.17, 11.18.29, and 10.23.33 

EDB Postgres Extended Server    14.6.0, 13.9 r1.1.11, 12.13 r1.1.13, 11.18 r2.1.13, and 11.18 r1.6.33

Highlights of these releases include:

Merge with community release. More information about this and other fixes in community PostgreSQL can be found in their release notes.

The following fixes are included in EDB Postgres Advanced Server in addition to the fixes found the in the community release:

v10 and above:

• Enhance edb_filter_log.redact_password_commands so that passwords used  in the CREATE/ALTER ROLE, CREATE/ALTER USER, CREATE/ALTER GROUP syntax  will get redacted when using optional parameters. (#86366)
• Improve an error when the table column is altered having a dependency on the package variable. (#85027)
   

v14 

• Fix edbwrap to work under FIPS enable system. This allows initdb to work with a FIPS enabled system. (#81283, 81673, 77660, 81457, 85713, 86663, 87246)
• Fix abnormal behavior of edb-audit by enabling shared memory access to edb-audit background worker. (#86002)
• postgres_fdw: fix IMPORT FOREIGN SCHEMA failure when remote is community PostgreSQL. (#86156)
• Providing edb_fix_pg_proc.sql script to fix system functions behavior on the existing v14 clusters created between 14.1.0 and 14.5.0. The script will be inside <install_dir>/share/postgresql/ directory and need to run manually.  To avoid the same issue onwards, disabled edb_redwood_date setting in the system_functions.sql file.
• edbldr: Fix crash in type conversion function due to null input.

On Windows, EDB Postgres Advanced Server 14.6.0, 13.9.13, 12.13.17, 11.18.29, 10.23.33 releases are bundled with pgAdmin4 version 6.15.
