WHAT’S NEW
This is to update you about the release of Replication Server version 6.2.19. Replication Server provides a robust solution for synchronizing data from or to non-Postgres databases to or from Postgres database, as well as, between Postgres databases.
Highlights of this release include the following:
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the issue where the history cleanup job is not automatically configured for non-MDN databases in a MMR triggered based cluster.
- Fixed a data consistency issue that occurs in an UPDATE-UPDATE conflict use case where some of the column changes from the target node are not reverted if the source node changes are accepted and the target node changes are discarded. [Support ticket # 83594]
- Fixed a corner case issue where the newly added rows in a non-MDN database might result in redundant INSERT-INSERT conflicts. [Support ticket # 81651]
- Fixed an issue where Synchronize replication fails when EPAS is the publication database configured to use WAL based change data capture (CDC) and an Oracle database is set up as the first subscription database and EPAS as the second subscription database.
End-of-Support Reminder:
We recommend you update to the most recent software version. If you have not yet updated to the most current version, please note the end-of-support notes below**:
- Software: Replication Server
- Version: 6.2
- End of Standard Support: May 25, 2023
**Additional details can be found at EDB Platform Compatibility.
NOTE:
To install Replication Server 6.2.x for the first time or to upgrade to the latest Replication Server 6.2.x from an older Replication Server 6.2.x via a RPM installation (using the yum repository), it is mandatory to use the ‘--exclude edb-xdb’ option with the install or upgrade command. If the exclude switch is not used, Replication Server version 7.x will be installed for a fresh installation or the current installation will be upgraded to version 7.x.
To upgrade:
yum upgrade ppas-xdb* --exclude edb-xdb*
To do a fresh install:
yum install ppas-xdb --exclude edb-xdb
Finally, as an important note regarding a choice to deploy the new 7.x version: While the 7.x version is backward compatible with 6.2.x, it is strongly recommended that the upgrade to version 7.x be verified in a staging or nonproduction environment before applying the upgrade in a production environment. Version 7.x provides a non-breaking upgrade path for existing cluster deployments.
