Highlights of this release:
Type |
Highlights |
Security Fix |
Addresses JDBC vulnerability CVE-2022-21724 that has a CVSS score of 8.5, which is a High severity. Note: The PostgreSQL JDBC driver version 42.3.2 that contains the security fix is bundled with Replication Server. If you have a RPM- or Debian-based Replication Server installation, the EDB JDBC driver for Advanced Server, which incorporates the community version 42.3.2, needs to be updated. For example, on RHEL7 or CentOS 7 distributions, run: yum update edb-jdbc |
Bug Fix |
Publication database registration fails for a SSL connection with a non-default SSL client certs/key path. [77621] |
End-of-Support Reminder:
We recommend you update to the most recent software version. If you have not yet updated to the most current version, please note the end-of-support notes below**:
- Software: Replication Server
- Version: 6.2
- End of Standard Support: May 25, 2023
**Additional details can be found at EDB Platform Compatibility.
NOTE:
To install Replication Server 6.2.x for the first time or to upgrade to the latest Replication Server 6.2.x from an older Replication Server 6.2.x via a RPM installation (using the yum repository), it is mandatory to use the ‘--exclude edb-xdb’ option with the install or upgrade command. If the exclude switch is not used, Replication Server version 7.0 will be installed for a fresh installation or the current installation will be upgraded to version 7.0.
To upgrade:
yum upgrade ppas-xdb* --exclude edb-xdb*
To do a fresh install:
yum install ppas-xdb --exclude edb-xdb
Finally, as an important note regarding a choice to deploy the new 7.0 version: While the 7.0 version is backward compatible with 6.2.x, it is strongly recommended that the upgrade to version 7.0 be verified in a staging or nonproduction environment before applying the upgrade in a production environment. Version 7.0 provides a non-breaking upgrade path for existing cluster deployments.
